Dy. CM, Bhalla inspect BUSP flats

Jammu, March 12- Dy. Chief Minister Mr. Tara Chand and Minister for Revenue, Rehabilitation and Relief Mr. Raman Bhalla today inspected the construction work of BUSP flats at Sunjwan being under-taken by Jammu Municipal Corporation for urban poor.
The authorities informed that under phase-I 356 flats and 80 flats are being raised under phase-II under this prestigious project.
The Dy. Chief Minister directed the Municipal Commissioner to ensure speedy execution of construction of these flats to complete the same within next two months. He also asked them to mobilize their resources for early completion of these works. He asked the Deputy Commissioner to demarcate the State land, which has been left after the implementation of Roshni Act, and transfer the same to JDA so that this property of the Government could be saved from encroachers and be utilized for developmental projects.
Speaking on the occasion, the Dy. Chief Minister exhorted upon the concerned authorities to build a strong coordination level to keep strict vigil over encroachment on the State and forest lands. He said that encroachment of this precious land is not only a loss to the Government but it will have drastic impact on the peaceful living of people. He also appealed the people to cooperate with the Government to stop such malpractices in the State.
On this occasion, a committee was constituted comprising DC, VC JDA and Commissioner JMC to keep a check on State and forest land encroachers. He directed them to submit the status report within next ten days and the interim report within 24 hours.
Mr. Bhalla said that construction of these flats for urban poor will greatly help the people to meet their requirements of accommodation and ensure good education and other necessary facilities to their children. He said that government is keen in fulfilling aspirations of the people and has launched a number of welfare and development schemes in this regard.
Later, the Dy. Chief Minister and the Minister visited the JDA Park at Trikuta Nagar.
