| PPP mode to develop cold store, Guest House being mooted: Sham | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
Jammu , March 12: Minister for Horticulture, Mr. Sham Lal Sharma has said that Bengal Government has allotted two plots of land measuring 6.5 kanals at Salt Lake, Kolkata to J&K Horticulture Department (P&S) on lease basis for establishment of cold store and Kissan guest house.
The Minister was replying to a question by Ch. Zulafkar Ali in Legislative Assembly here today.
He said since the State Government could not find appropriate resources to finance the projects, it was decided to raise these facilities in association with the private enterprises in PPP mode.
The Minister said that in this regard the Government has invited expressions of interest from the open market and seven firms have expressed interest to partner the state government in setting up these facilities. He said government has constituted a committee of Secretaries to examine the offers and make the necessary recommendations thereof to the cabinet.
He said the committee is presently finalizing its recommendations. Once the cabinet approves the recommendations of the committee, the next natural step of formulation of the MoU and its subsequent signing with the selected firms would follow.
