| Court frames corruption charges against Patwari | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
Jammu, March-12 :- Additional Sessions Judge Anticorruption Jammu DC Sagotra today framed against Mohd Sohail Mir then Patwari Halqa Seora Jammu who was caught red-handed by the Vigilance Team on February 16, 2010 and recovered bribe amount.
According to the VOJ case that on February 16, 2010 complainant Deepak Choudhary of Sanjay Nagar Jammu lodged a written complaint in VOJ in which he submitted that he has purchased land measuring 3 Kanal 12 Marlas at village Seora Tehsil & District Jammu and approached Patwari Halqa Mohd Sohail Mir for attestation of mutation of the said land. Complainant had already given Rs 5000 as bribe to the Patwari but he demanded Rs 13000 more from the complainant. On this complainant lodged a complaint with VOJ, VOJ registered a case u/s 5(1) (d) r/w 5(2) PC Act 2006 and 161 RPC and laid a trap on the same day. The Trap team caught red-handed Sohail Mir and seized the bribe amount and on the disclosure bribe money Rs 5000 accepted by the Said Patwari for the same work on the morning was recovered and after completion of the investigation challan was presented in the Court.
The court after hearing the parties framed charges against then Patwari Halqa Seora framed charges u/s 5(1) (d) r/w 5(2) of J&K PC Act 2006 SVT and 161 RPC. JNF
