| MPLADS is fraud on Constitution | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
Jammu, March 12: Prof. Bhim Singh, Chairman, National Panthers Party has described raising of MPLADS from Rs. 2 to 5 crores for every MP whether he has any constituency or not as highway robbery against state exchequer that amounts to the biggest scam committed in connivance with the law-makers of the largest democracy of the world.
A Division Bench of Supreme Court of India headed by Former Chief Justice, K.G. Balakrishnan dismissed writ petition of Prof. Bhim Singh challenging the MPLADS as a fraud on the Constitution which amounts to legalizing corruption by the MPs.
Senior Advocate, M K. Venugopal had argued this case for Prof. Bhim Singh for several years. Prof. Bhim Singh had raised the issue of corruption by the Members of Parliament when each MP of Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha and even nominated MPs having no constituency at all were also allotted Rs.2 crores for year from the consolidated funds of Govt. of India only to pump crores of rupees into the pockets of MPs.
The Comptroller Auditor-General of India in its repeated findings had described the MPLADS as most irregular and corrupt practice as the money misused to the MPs has been allotted for the promotion and luxury of political workers of the respective parties associated with the MPs concerned.
Prof. Bhim Singh said that there was a need to scrap this MPLADS and save this money for the welfare of the wretched of the earth and starving children and for the children of those who cannot afford even school-books for their children. He had also been pursuing this matter for 15 years that MPLADS shall cause grave threat to the principles of democracy and equality which may become the cause of Ultimate Revolution in this country.
Prof. Bhim Singh has decided to file a curative writ petition in Supreme Court against MPLADS.
In the meantime the Panthers Party Chief has urged Prime Minister to convene a meeting of NIC on this issue to seek popular public opinion before committing another 5G scam.
