| Wrestling Championship gets underway | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, March 12: Wrestlers from Jammu and Kashmir Police dominated the opening day of the State Championship winning all their bouts in different weight groups at Indoor Complex, MA Stadium, here today.
Among those who advanced into the next round from Police were Lal Hussain, Sunny Sharma and Anil Kumar. Jammu district too performed well with two of its wrestlers making it to the final.
In the women’s section, Salma Bibi and Manpreet Kour of Samba district were winners of two bouts decided in 60 kg and 63 kg weight categories respectively.

MEN: 55 kg: Lal Hussain (JKP) bt Gagandeep Sharma (Jammu); Sachin Kumar (Samba) bt Rayees Ahmed (Anantnag). 60 kg: Sunny Sharma (JKP) bt Saqib Rasool (Badgam); Bhushan Mehra (Jammu) bt Mehraj-ud-Din (Anantnag). 66 kg: Kulbir Singh (Jammu) bt Rafat (Srinagar). 74 kg: Obaid Gulzar (Srinagar) bt Wasim (Anantnag). 84 kg: Anil Kumar (JKP) bt Gagan Anand (Jammu).
WOMEN: 60 kg: Salma Bibi (Samba) bt Harpreet Kour (Jammu). 63 kg: Manpreet Kour (Samba) bt Taranjeet (Jammu).
