| Accused of raping minor, jawan held | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
Jammu, Mar 12 : An army jawan, who allegedly outraged the modesty of a six-year-old girl at Kalyana in Arnia area near here on March 7 last, was today arrested by police from Vyaspur.
Police sources said sepoy Rakesh Kumar had allegedly raped the six-year-old daughter of his neighbour in his house at Kalyana.
There was no one in the house when he had committed the alleged rape on the minor girl, the sources added.
Following deterioration in her condition, he had fled the village and taken shelter in his friend's house at Vyaspur, Arnia.
He was booked by police under sections 376 and 511 of RPC.
Acting on a tip-off, police raided his friend's house and arrested him. He was at present posted in Doda. |
