Coalition selling Govt jobs: Beigh | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT Jammu, March 13: Expressing concern over simmering discontent among youth of the State, senior PDP leader and former deputy chief minister, Muzaffar Hussain Beigh today said that state government headed by Omar Abdullah has been brazenly indulged into auctioning government jobs. Addressing mammoth public rally organized by the party at Parade Ground, Beigh pointed out that during the last two years backdoor appointments have been going unabated. “Instead of providing jobs to the deserving unemployed youth this regime has been appointment influential persons through backdoors”, he said. “For getting a government job, one should either have money to give bribe or should should be related to Ministers or ruling elites”, he said. Calling upon the people of Jammu to strengthen hands of Mufti Mohammad Sayeed, Beigh reminded that people during his tenure as chief minister of the state Mufti Mohammad Sayeed had set an example of good governance. “PDP led regime has carved out a path of equitable development in the State”, he said. Stressing need for making Jammu Kashmir State economically self reliant, Beig demanded scrapping of the discriminatory water treaties. He especially mentioned Indus Water Treaty which, according to him, has debarred Jammu Kashmir State from utilizing its own water. Beigh said that Maharaja Hari Singh the last Dogra ruler of the State had signed Instrument of Accession and surrendered only Defence, Foreign Affairs and Telecommunication to the Union Government. “The late Maharaja was forced to leave the State under a conspiracy hatched by some leaders of that time because they were very much aware that as long as Maharaja was there he would not allow them to accomplish their nefarious designs”, he said, adding, “Maharaja was committed to maintain separate identity of the State”. Assuring people of Jammu that PDP would fulfill their aspirations and wishes, Beigh said that dignity and honour of the people of Jammu would be restored if PDP returned to power.
