| Wep XI to face Busy XI in JCDA Cup final | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, March 13: Wep XI shall take on Busy XI in the final of ongoing JCDA Cricket Cup, organised by Jammu Computer Dealers Association at University of Jammu (JU) grounds, here.
In the semi-finals, played today, Wep XI thrashed HP XI by 70 runs while Busy XI drubbed Canon XI by 27 runs to qualify for the final.
Earlier, powered by Aditya Gupta’s fabulous knock of 84 (off 53 balls) runs, Busy XI outplayed Canon XI by 27 runs. Batting first, Busy XI scored 147 losing all their wickets in 19.2 overs. Amarjeet also played well and contributed 26 runs to the total.
From Canon XI, Rohit and Rahul picked two wickets each while Naveen, Rakesh, Arvind and Sudhir shared apiece each.
In reply, Canon XI lost wickets on regular intervals and fell short of 27 runs to the target as the whole side bowled out for 120 runs in 18.3 overs. Rahul was top scorer with 19 runs while Sudhir Dutta and Rohit Jandyal contributed 13 runs each. From Busy XI, Rupesh and Amarjeet bowled well taking away three wickets each while Rohit Handoo took two.
In another semi-final of the day, Wep XI made a huge total of 180 runs in the stipulated 20 overs for the loss of eight wickets. HS Bedi (41), Sunny Dhiman (37) and Sourav (23) were the main contributors. Ravi Kant Komal and Vikram scalped two wickets each from HP XI.
Batting second, HP XI bundled-out for 110 runs in 16.5 overs, thus lost the match by 70 runs. Aman and Ravi Kumar contributed 25 and 21 runs respectively. Sourav and Vinay Koul took three wickets each from Wep XI while Sunny Dhiman claimed two.
Today’s semi-finals were officiated by Rajeev Pakhetra and Rajinder Singh as umpires while Sunil maintained the scorebook.
