Dy CM, Sagar lay foundation stone of Pargwal model village project | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, Mar 13:Deputy Chief Minister Tara Chand in presence of Minister for Rural Development, Ali Mohammad Sagar today laid the foundation for development of border area Pargwal in Khour block as cluster model village. The Rural Development department will execute Rs 11 Cr project which include creation of modern basic amnesties and other infrastructure. Divisional Commissioner Jammu, Dr. Pawan Kotwal, IGP Jammu Dilbagh Singh, Additional Deputy Commissioner Jammu Mr. B.R. Sharma, Director Rural Development, Chief Engineer R&B and other sartorial officers of Khor Block were present on the occasion. Addressing the gathering after laying the foundation stone, Dy Chief Minister said that the government has set three years time for the completion of the model village project Pargwal and asked the executing authorities to ensure quality of work with judicious use of funds. He said with completion of this first ever cluster model village project, around 16,000 souls living in 17 villages of Pargwal area would be facilitated with several specialized schemes in education, health, communication sewerage and drainage, agriculture and above all provision for a bus terminal and development of tourist spots in the area . Referring to the demand of construction of bridge between Pargwal and Khour block, Dy Chief Minister said that the project is under active consideration and will be taken up shortly. Speaking on the occasion, Rural Development Minister Ali Mohammad Sagar said that till date several model villages have been developed in the State and this is the first ever such project which involves Rs 11 Cr cost. Assuring the people of tremendous development of Pargwal area within couple of years, Sagar said that people would feel the difference and would appreciate the government for its strong determination and will to work hard with sincerity. Congratulating people for model village project, Sagar said that other demands like construction of bridges and similar projects would be met by the government in a phased manner.
