9th Commandants’ Conference concludes | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, Mar 13:Two Days long 9th Commandants’ Conference of J&K Armed Police and IRP Battalions concluded today. In today’s Valedictory Session, which was attended by Additional Director General of Police (ADGP) Armed, Law & Order J&K K Rajendra Kumar and Vigilance Commissioner PL Gupta, the participants gave presentations on various significant topics relating to J&K Armed Police. In his Valedictory address, the Vigilance Commissioner J&K referred to the major National level 2G spectrum and CWG scam and laid emphasis on creation of internal Vigilance at Bn. level to monitor the unwanted activities of the individuals of the Units. He also emphasized to make good the trust deficit among common man to make functioning transparent and accounted for. The presentations were made by T Punchok DIG AP Jammu and Rouf-ul-Hassan DIG AP Kashmir on the topics Non-Lethal Means of Crowd Control, Recruitment and Training respectively. While highlighting the transparent procedures to be adopted during recruitment process, DIG AP Kashmir laid stress upon the duties of the Chairman of the recruitment Board. While commenting on the various aspects of the recruitment procedures, K.Rajendra Kumar IPS ADGP Armed/Law & Order J&K laid emphasis on use of modern technology in the process involving online submission of application forms etc. A very useful in-house discussion took place during the Session followed by very fruitful concluding remarks and clarifications by the Additional DGP Armed/Law & order J&K. Further, six Commandants three each from Jammu and Kashmir based Bns. made their presentations on topic Dimension of Law & Order followed a very fruitful discussion on the topic. Various shortcomings and opportunities based on their personal experiences were discussed on the topics in question. All the participants shared their experiences during the house discussion. The Valedictory Session concluded with a vote of thanks from Ravinder Kotwal IGP AP/IR Jammu. ADGP K Rajendra Kumar also presented a memento to PL Gupta IPS Vigilance Commissioner J&K on the occasion.
