| Training camp on NRLM held at Vijaypur | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, Mar 13:Regional Rural Extension Training Centre R S Pura, organized a “Training Camp on National Rural Livelihood Mission” at Block Headquarters Vijaypur here today. The training camp was organized for the Staff of BDOs, Panchayat Inspectors, Gram Rozgar Sevaks, Gram Sevaks, SHGs, NGOs and NYK volunteers of Block Vijaypur.
The training was imparted by Principal, BK Pandita and R K Koul, Guest Faculty.
In his inaugural address to the participants the Principal Regional Rural Extension Training Centre R S Pura, BK Pandita said that Swarnjayanti Gram Swarozgar Yojana(SGSY)was launched on April, 1, 1999 with the objective of generating self employment avenues for rural poor. However to achieve the objective of the national programme of self-employment more effectively Swarnjayanti Gram Swarozgar Yojana(SGSY) is being restructured and a new scheme‘National Rural Livelihood Mission’ in being launched throughout the country.
Training Programme was conducted mainly on topics as per Model devised by National Institute of Rural Development(NIRD) Hyderabad like outcome of Nation-wide Study on SGSY, Formation of SHG’s/ Federation concept, SHG’s Grading, Practice & Experience, Capacity Building of SHGs under SGSY, Pro-active Role of DRDA in SGSY, Identification of livelihood opportunities in rural non-farm sector, Micro credit, Training for Entrepreneurship Development, Role of NGOs in SHG Formation and Development, Market Support to SHGs, Monitoring and Evaluation of SGSY, Gender Issues in SGSY etc.
