Shashwati celebrates birth centenary of Agyeya

JAMMU, Mar 13:Shashwati- an organization of Hindi Writers of Jammu and Kashmir organized a two-day seminar on Agyeya Aur Hamara Samay (Agyeya and Our Times) which was inaugurated here today at K L Saigal Hall.
A Galaxy of dignitaries were present on the occasion.
Ashok Vajpai reputed Hindi Writer and Chairman, Lalit Kala Akademi, Ministry of Culture, Govt. of India, New Delhi while delivering the key-note address recited a few poems of Agyeya in his inimitable voice.
Dr Raj Kumar who was in presidium spoke about how Agyeya was ahead of his time and how he was relevant even in our present.
Prominent Hindi writer Suresh Dhingra spoke on the relevance of thoughts of Agyeya expressed by him in a series of radio interviews in the mid-eightees. The concerns of Agyeya about literary language, culture, politics and revolutions demand a re-evaluation of the writer today, he opined.
While in his address Rajendra Upadhyay eminent Hindi scholar related his reminecences of the poet and the mentor as he saw Agyeya. He traced a long journey he had shared with the poet.
Dr. Chanchal Dogra shared the thoughts of Agyeya with reference to the Topic of the Writers Camp, namely Literature and Future, held at Mansar in 1985
Ramesh Mehta, Convenor of the Shashwati dwelt at length about the importance of Agyeya’s Works and his times.
Rakesh Anand on Flute and Shri Ravi Sharma on Santoor presented Dogra-Pahari Folk Music and a bandish in Raag Yaman. Accompanimenta was provided by Vijay Anand.
