| NMC pleads Prime Minister for special package | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, Mar 13: National Mazdoor Conference has appealed Prime Minister and Deputy Chairman of the Planning Commission to include special package of Rs. 5 thousand cores in the next year state annual plan for 2011-12 to enable J&K government to disburse arrears of 6th pay commission to the employees and pensioners. Addressing a largely attended NMC workers rally here today, President of the National Mazdoor Conference Subash Shastri hoped that planning commission would take lenient view to release this amount to state government. Shastri said that with rising inflation, salaried class is facing economic hardships, adding that raising income tax exemption limit from Rs. 1.80 lakh to Rs. 3 lakh would be genuine measure to provide some relief. Other demands highlighted by Shastri on the occasion included release of wages of motivators working in IWDP besides their regularization, issuance of orders of 180 daily wagers working in rural development department, timely release of wages of daily wages working in the various government departments, release of 12 percent DA due from January last in favour of both central and state government employees, regularization of services of daily wagers, enhancement in the wages of daily wagers from Rs. 125 to Rs. 200 per day and declare Jammu and Srinagar cities as B-I cities.
