EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, March 13: Jammu and Kashmir Police claimed the overall championship trophy in men’s section while women’s title went to district Samba in the State Wrestling Championship held under the banner of J&K Wrestling Association at MA Stadium, here today.
In the closing function of this two-day championship, Director General of J&K Police, Kuldeep Khoda was chief guest, who gave away trophies and medals to the winners of different weight categories.
Glad to find a good number of upcoming men and women wrestlers in the championship, the DGP, who is also president of J&K Wrestling Association, announced a cash reward of Rs 5000 for gold winner and Rs 3,000 for the silver medalist.
“I’m very happy to find a number of talented and young wrestlers in the state. And, to encourage the talent, I announce a cash prizes of Rs 5,000 for winner and Rs 3,000 for runners from the J&K Police,” said the DGP while speaking in the valedictory function.
Among others present were general secretary of the Association, Dushyant Sharma, Ashutosh Sharma, Narinder Mahajan, Mulkh Raj, Ajay Vaid and Bansi Lal Tadyal.
