'Jammu equal stakeholder in development, peace' | | | Early Times Report Jammu, Mar 13: In a bid the clear the misconceptions about the party and its political agenda, the PDP leadership tried to convince Jammu audience today that PDP is there to address the concerns of Jammu region and is determined to 'take full care' of their interests. In the Parade Ground rally Mufti Mohammad Sayeed reiterated commitment of PDP to decentralize the powers at regions and sub-regions said that his party's Self-Rule document was prepared after incorporating wishes and aspirations of different sections to empower all citizens of Jammu and Kashmir. Speaking on the occasion, PDP chief Mehbooba Mufti assured that gathering her party would fulfill aspirations of all regions and sub-regions of the State. She reminded that the gathering during the regime of PDP-Congress regime equal treatment was given to all regions of the State. She said that all people of all regions have been bearing brunt of the violence and there was a need to unitedly work for restoring peace in the State. PDP chief said that people of Jammu would also be involved in the process of solving Kashmir problem because people of this region were equal stakeholders in the issue. Former Deputy Chief Minister Muzaffar Hussian Beig also said PDP would ensure equitable distribution of development in Jammu once it comes to power. Castigating the present regime he said it is the government by affluent and for affluent people. "IF you happen to be a relative or close acquaintance of the ministers then only your works will be done….the poor have no place or no voice in this regime", Baig said. He said late Maharaja Hari Singh wanted an independent J&K but he was betrayed by then "Kashmiri leadership" who claimed to be "true Muslims". "Maharaja Hari Singh made Sheikh Mohammad Abdullah Prime Minister of the state but he (Sheikh Abdullah) hatched a conspiracy with Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru and Sardar Patel and had sent him outside the State," said Baig. |
