| Peerzada inaugurates Model School at Dialgam | | | Srinagar, Nov 13 Minister for Hajj and Auqaf Peerzada Mohammed Sayeed has said that the government headed by Chief Minister Mr. Ghulam Nabi Azad is committed for overall development and top priority has been given to the promotion and upgradation of education He was inaugurating Model Educational Institute at Dialgam. Mr. Sayeed said that several programme including TLC and SSA are being implemented through out the state for promoting education sector and eradicating illiteracy. The Minister said that in Anantnag district alone 360 Primary Schools and 265 Middle Schools have been upgraded during last three years under SSA while 207 Primary Schools, 65 Middle Schools and 450 additional class rooms were constructed at a cost of Rs. 12.65 lakh. Also 496 EGS centres have been opened. He said school going Physically challenged children have been given assistance/aid in the shape of wheel chairs, hearing aids, tricycles, glasses and artificial foot etc. in the district. The Minster stressed upon teaching community to work with dedication in providing better and quality education. He sought public cooperation in implementing various state and centrally sponsored programmes presently under implementation in the state. On the occasion the District Development Commissioner Anantnag was present among others. |
