| Bandh visits MED complex, reviews snow clearance preparedness | | | Srinagar, Nov 13 Minister of State for R&B and Mechanical Engineering Mr. Mohammad Khalil Bandh today inspected Mechanical Engineering Department (MED) Complex at Srinagar to review the arrangements and preparedness for road clearance in the event of snow fall. The minister was informed that the valley has been divided into 3zones for smooth implementation of action plan for speedy snow clearance. While 18 snow ploughs have been kept available for zone I comprising Srinagar and Budgam districts, 7 such ploughs would be pressed into service for zone 2nd constituting Anantnag and Pulwama districts and 7 each ploughs have been kept available for Baramulla and Kupwara districts. Heavy machinery including snow cutters and dozers have also been stationed at various district headquarters to meet any eventuality. The minister directed the concerned to provide adequate facility to the staff deployed on duty for snow clearance. He also instructed for making operational the central heating system in various hospitals across the valley by November 15, for convenience of patients and their attendants. Chief Engineer Mechanical Engineering department, Mr. A. R. Teli and a host of senior officers accompanied the Minister. |
