Ford flags off discover smart drive from Jammu

Jammu, March 14: To celebrate Figo’s first anniversary and thank customers for making it the most awarded car over, Ford India, today flagged off the North India leg of its popular Discover Smart Drive from Jammu.
With customers and industry experts been unanimous in acknowledging it as the best value for money products, Ford Figo has been one of the most successful for Ford India. On March 9, 2011 Ford celebrated Figo’s first anniversary and announced exported to more than 50 international markets including Mexico, Middle East, Carribean and North Africa. So far, Ford has exported almost 10,000 Figos to South Africa and Nepal. Exports to the new markets will begin in April 2011, and will be on sale by mid –year.
Aimed to celebrate a year full of success and substantially, the five-day experiential drive campaign will explore key tourist destinations across while connecting with consumers through activities at Jammu Ford (Jammu), Bhagat Ford (Amritsar & Ludhiana), before culminating in Chandigarh.
Lucky couple Dinesh & Rekha Slathia from Delhi, will explore North India in the celebratory figo. They will begin in Jammu by paying obeisance to the Holy Vaishno Devi Temple and will also visit the revered Golden Temple in Amritsar.
The phenomenal Figo has taken to a new level in India. Since its launch last year, Figo has continued to show unrelenting popularity and growth with close to 80,000 proud owners and top 20 excellance award” said N.Raja, Vice President Sale, Ford India.
Since launching the phenomenal Figo last year, we’ve sold almost 80,000 vehicles and it has earned more than 20 awarded, making the Figo one of the fastest selling and most awarded vehicles in the Indian auto industry, he added.
Driven by the continued strong sale of Figo, Ford India nearly tripled sales in February, achieving a 188 per cent increase from the same time last year. Sold a total of 9,293 vehicles this February compared to 3,223 in 2010.
With a wide sale and service network in Jammu, Kashmir, Pathankot, Amritsar, Bhatinda, Jalander, Ludhiana, Patiala, Sangrur, Mohali and Chandigarh, the northern region has been instrumental in contributing to this growth.
Excited to be Figo-ing again, Dinesh & Rekha Slathia said, “Revisting the Discover Smart Drive Experience across our favourite region in our favourite car is something very special.
We are happy to be back forward to recreating the old magic”.
As part of this the couple will get to share photos and their experiences online through Facebook, Twitter and blogs. They will also post their experiences for the Ford Figo fans on the Ford Figo communities on Facebook.
