| BJP constitutes senior citizen cell | | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, Mar 14: Bharatiya Janata Party today constituted senior citizens cell with a motive to look into grievances of the people who have crossed age of 60 years and need health, legal, moral and economic support.
In a press note issued here today, it has been stated that Senior Citizens Cell would be headed by party senior leader Kuldeep Raj Gupta. The senior citizen cell head Kuldeep Raj Gupta said that senior citizens are the people who need special attention and care. He added that main objective of the cell would include holding of senior citizen’s meetings regularly to listen to their grievances and address them.
He said that cell would organize free health camps regularly and offer financial aid to the needy and poor irrespective of party affiliations to all sections of senior citizens. Gupta further stated that cell would demand treatment and investigation facility be made free of cost in the government health institutions, including Primary Health Centres. He also demanded facility of reimbursement for life saving drugs to continue even after the retirement of the employees.
On the pattern of travel concession offered by railways, he also demanded discounted travel facility for these people for bus travel. Gupta disclosed that till now state level cells have been constituted in Delhi, Haryana, Punjab, Chandigarh, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir and Uttrakhand. Gupta also announced names of newly appointed state office bearers of the cell which include Shiv Kumar Gupta and N.D. Rajwal as Vice-presidents, Choudhary Ram Swaroop, General Secretary and District Conveners including Dr. Mohan Lal (Jammu), Thakur Ranjit Singh (Kathua), Choudhary Kartar Singh (Samba), Dilbagh Singh (Basohli), Sham Lal Shastri (Reasi), Vipin Kandhari (Poonch) and Devi Dass (Rajouri.
