Early Times Report
JAMMU, Mar 14: BJP has raised serious objections over holding of anti-national seminars and rallies in Jammu region and warned that this could vitiate peaceful atmosphere in the city of temples.
In a handout issued here today, State President Shamsher Singh Manhas while referring to the seminar held at Kathua on Sunday, which was addressed by separatist leader Shabir Shah and the “self-rule” rally addressed by PDP Patron Mufti Mohammed Sayeed at Parade Ground said that already the atmosphere is full of provocation because of the Chief Minister Omar Abdullah’s speech questioning accession of Jammu and Kashmir with India.
Manhas reminded that separatist leaders like Geelani, Yasin Malik and Shabir Shah had to face the public wrath on number of occasions not only in Jammu but other parts of the country also, which is an indication that the people have made up their mind to oppose anti-India approach of these elements. He asked the government not to allow these separatists to indulge in provocative speeches and take stern action against them in case, they do not shed their anti-India campaign while enjoying luxuries of life at the cost of Indian exchequer.
Manhas also denounced the NC-Congress coalition government and Chief Minister who had, instead of imposing a check on seminars and rallies addressed by separatists, himself chosen to speak their language by issuing statements which had caused lot of resentment among the patriotic people not only of the state but whole of the country and Jammu in particular.
Earlier, Manhas, while addressing 1-day working committee meeting of R.S. Pura district, along with State General Secretary and District Prabhari Sat Sharma (C.A), criticized the government decision to hold Panchayat election without 73rd amendment and said this would further encourage the separatist elements who are against the full flow of Indian constitution in the state.
Sat Sharma, MLAs Shyam Choudhary and Prof. Gharu Ram Bhagat, Jasbir Singh Lucky, Sat Pal Pappy, Narinder Singh, Raj Singh, G.S.Pummy, M.S. Pumna were prominent who attended this meet, alongwith working committee members of the district.
