| AIDS awareness camp organised | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
KATHUA,MAR 14: A seven days AIDS Awareness Camp organized by 121 Battalion CRPF in collaboration with SPARSH India commences at Mahatma Gandhi Hospital here at Kathua today.
DIG CRPF Jammu Range Parladh Singh inaugurated the camp.
DDC Kathua Zahidha Khan, SSP Kathua J.L Sharma, Comdt.121 Bn CRPF V.S Joon, Dy Director IEC Deepika Thakur, Tehsildar (Hq) Jatinder Mishra, Medical Superintendent Mahatma Gandhi Hospital Hardev Gupta, Medical Superintendent District Hospital Kathua Anoop Manhas, Principal Govt Degree Women College Kathua Dr A. K Malhotra, Executive Secretary REDCROSS Kathua S.D Singh, Volunteers from Red cross, students from school and colleges were also present in the function.
Comdt 121 Bn CRPF V.S Joon welcomed the guests and detailed the gathering about the facilities being provided in the camp. He said CRPF is always ready to contribute by playing positive role in the social activities like de addiction programme for drug addicts and handicaps besides defending the motherland.
DIG CRPF Jammu Range Parladh Singh appealed the gathering to contribute to spread the awareness regarding the disease for the welfare of public.
DDC Kathua Zahidha Khan hailed the efforts of CRPF for organizing awareness camp on deadly diseases which engulfs million of peoples every year across the world. Dr Dimple and Dr Hardev Gupta minutely detailed the audience about the disease and explained necessary precautions to keep away from dreadful disease. A separate counseling, assistance, examination and awareness booths were established in the camp. Facilities like free blood test reports of which will be kept confidential, condoms, blanket for needy patients also provided during the camp. A separate booth for Audio video aid and literature regarding AIDS and its prevention was also set up by J&K State Prevention and Control Society during the camp. Dy Comndt Dheeraj Mishra presented vote of thanks.
