| Ishan, Shivani excel in Sprawling Buds climbing meet | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, March 15: Ishan Rashid and Shivani Thakarwal won boys’ and girls’ titles respectively in the 4th Sprawling Buds School Sport Climbing Championship held at 40 ft high Tenzing Norgay Sport Climbing Wall in the school premises here today.
While Shivani retained the title, Ishan toppled the defending champion, Nikhil to claim the trophy. Similarly, in junior boys and junior girls’ category, Abhishek and Suneha emerged victorious.
The competition was conducted in technical collaboration with Tawi Trekkers, J&K. Shawetica Khajuria, a qualified Sport Climbing judge was the president of the jury, Suraj Singh and Puneet Sharma, both national climbers, were the route setters-cum-belayers of the competition.
Secretary of Mountaineering Association of J&K and a national judge of the game, Ram Khajuria was chief guest who gave a way prizes to the winners.
Prominent among others present were Directors of the host School, Rahul Sharma, Arti Sharma and Savita Khajuria as also Sumit Khajuria, a prominent mountaineer of J&K, Satish Bhan, Poonam Mishra, Neha Datta, Ritesh Jagotra, Monika Koul and Himani Sharma.
The Detailed Results: Boys: Ishan Rashid, Ist; Nikhil Sharma, 2nd and Sahil Gandhi, 3rd.
Girls: Shivani Thakarwal, Ist; Amrin Fatima, 2nd and Mehak Choudhary, 3rd. Junior Boys: Abhishek, Ist; Sourav, 2nd and Vikrant, 3rd. Junior Girls: Suneha Bhagat, Ist; Anshu Pandit, 2nd and Neha Tickoo, 3rd.
