JAMMU, March 15 : The NSS volunteers of Government Degree College, Udhampur organized a programme at Oldage Home, Udhampur in which clothes and eatables were distributed among the needy and poor children.
Principal of the College Dr. Nutan Kumar Resutra was the chief guest on this occasion. In his interaction with the inmates of the Old Age home where orphan children also reside, he said that the NSS works with the motto ‘not me but you’ and try to infuse the same sense of responsibility in the volunteers. “Every child has a right to live, grow and smile enjoying the basic amenities of life, “ he said.
He also, along with the NSS Program Officers Dr. Udhay Bhanu and Prof. Suresh Kumar Dogra, distributed twenty one track suits and fruit purchased out of donation collected by the NSS volunteers from the students and staff of the College, among the orphan children. Others who were prominently present on this occasion included Prof. Tara Nath and Prof. Kamal Kishore along with the senior citizens living in the home.
