| Workshop on Information Technology concludes | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, Mar 15: A two day workshop on Computers and IT for Professors organised by the Academic Staff college of Jammu University concluded here today.
Workshop was attended by around twenty professors drawn from various teaching departments of the University. Main focus of the workshop was to upgrade the computing knowledge of the senior faculty so as to make them aware of the various new technological changes being brought in by the IT revolution.
Senior faculty members were given live demonstrations and practical training at the state of the art computer lab of ASC. Apart from Internet surfing and its various usages the training sessions also focussed on the need for better use of computers vis-à-vis teaching and research for teachers.
Dr Sobreto from Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University, DS Oberoi from DOACC, Dr Sanjay from Computer science& IT Department JU And R Pathania from IIHT acted as the resourse persons for the workshop while Amit Mahajan System's Analyist Computer Science Department acted as the coordinater of the workshop.Prof I V Malhan Director ASC, Ranjeet Kalra Asstt. Prof. ASC and Rifat Kanwar Course Cordinater ASC were also present on the occassion.
