Construction of emergency block of DH Pulwama taken up: Sham | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, Mar 16: Minister for Health Sham Lal Sharma has said that construction work of emergency block of district Hospital Pulwama have been taken up at an estimated cost of Rs 629 lakh, adding that Rs 80 lakh have been expended on the project upto January this year. This was stated by Minister while replying to a question by Mohammad Khalil Band in the Legislative Assembly here today. Minister said that an amount of Rs 1.50 crore have been released for the execution of the said project during the current financial year. He said that OPD block is a part of the under construction Emergency Block of district Hospital Pulwama. He assured for time-bound completion of the project. n reply to another question by Charanjeet Singh, the Health Minister informed the House that against two sanctioned posts of Radiologists in district Hospital Kathua, one doctor with post-graduate qualification in Radiology has been already posted. He said that vacant posts of B-grade specialists including those in the discipline of radiology have been referred to PSC. He said these vacancies would be filled up as soon as the select lists are received. Minister said that 49 doctors of Jammu division and 17 doctors of Kashmir division have been imparted short term training in radiology procedure techniques at Government Medical Colleges and Hospitals. In reply to another question by Mushtaq Ahmad Shah, the Minister said in the House that under NRHM, the construction work of sub-district hospital Tral and sub-centre Naristan in Tral constituency have been taken up at a total estimated cost of Rs 7.88 crore. He said that an amount of Rs 4.20 crore have been expended on construction of sub-district hospital Tral during last fiscal which include Rs 1.20 crore under NRHM. He said that Rs 75 lakh has been released for the said project under State sector during current financial year. Minister said that OPD block of the project have been taken over and make functional besides Emergency Block completed and construction of IPD Block is progress. Minister said that construction work of sub-centre Naristan taken up under NRHM for which Rs 18 lakh kept available and work would be started this month. Minister said proposal of opening and upgradation of the health institutions is considered on the recommendation of the concerned District Development Board and feasibility, norms and availability of resources. Sharma said that the issue for revival of walnut processing plant at Beerwah have been taken with JKHPMC and Industries & Commerce department has informed that the case is fit for being processed compensation as the plant and machinery have got damaged during the period when it was under occupation of security forces. He said concerned deputy Commissioner has been asked to prepare loss assessment report for release of compensation from Home department. This was stated by Minister while replying to a question by Shafi Ahmad Wani in the Legislative Assembly here today. Minister said that this issue came up again for discussion in DDB meeting held on December 20, 2010, wherein it was impressed that action for the revival of the unit to be taken on priority basis.
