| People flout traffic rule, park vehicles in no parking zone | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
Udhampur March 17: Udhampur roads have become nightmare as the traffic management is nil on the ground and people seem openly violating traffic rules as there is no one to check them .
The people within city limits violating even District Magistrates order regarding No parking zone and park vehicles in the middle of the road that too under the nose of administration near Slathia Chowk few yards away from Tehsildar and DC office
Due to absence of law enforcing agencies, traffic and local police in many congested markets, especially in the Gole Market , Main Bazar, Mukherjee Bazar and Slathia Chowk , court road Slallian talab area markets in the city, it is very difficult to even walk or cross the road during the office and evening hours In most of the area people park there vehicle in the middle of roads .
Local residents, showing helplessness, alleged that despite DM under 144 CRPC already imposed that no heavy vehicle will enter in city after 8 am upto 8 pm and no one will dump building material on roads .
Rafiq Ahmed and Sahil, local residents, said that the problem worsen further when shopkeepers and vendors, encroach upon the footpaths, causing major obstruction to the flow of traffic with no consideration to the inconvenience. They alleged that few months back District administration had made plan but all such plan fail on grounds as only sign boards of no traffic zones seems on roads but no one was assigned duty to implement such orders .
