Rajouri residents protest shifting of hospital | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT RAJOURI, Mar 17: Hundreds of residents of Rajouri town, business community in particular staged a Dharna at Gujjar Mandi Chowk here on Thursday and raised anti- government slogans. They were protesting against shifting of district hospital Rajouri from old to new building. Hundreds of residents of Rajouri town, mostly traders, took to streets on Thursday morning raising anti state government slogans. They were protesting against the shifting of district hospital from old to new building which falls few hundred meters away from the old one. Protestors were of the view that due to the shifting of hospital from the main city, their business got hit and they want hospital at the same location. However, the general people are happy over the shifting of hospital saying that the old building was not sufficient to accommodate the crowd of increasing population. However, sources said, the protest demonstration was engineered and conspired by some druggists who had good business around the old hospital premises and they were not happy with the shifting move. Sources said that the whole protest was conspired by the druggist community particularly those falling in the vicinity of old hospital. However, after two hours Dharna at Gujjar Mandi chowk, the protestor dispersed peacefully and decided to work on old wages.
