| Inter-block competitions of PYKKA begin | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, March 17: After inter-Panchayat, the Department of Youth Services and Sports (DYSS) organised inter-block sports meet of Jammu district under Centrally sponsored scheme of Panchayat Yuva Krida Aur Khel Abhiyan (PYKKA) at Government Higher Secondary School, Domana, near here today.
The sports meet meant for both boys and girls of under-16 years of age was declared open by Deputy Director DYSS, S S Bali.
On the opening day, kabaddi, volleyball and kho-kho event started under the guidance of experts from the department. In all, 600 athletes are competing for the top honours in different disciplines.
The semi-finals and finals in all the three events shall be played tomorrow. Meanwhile, the organizers have decided to hold inter-block football meet at GGM Science College ground tomorrow.
The Detailed Results:
Kabaddi Girls: R S Pura bt Bhalwal block by 12 pts; Akhnoor bt Marh block by 18 pts; R S Pura bt Satwari block by 12 pts; Akhnoor bt Dansal block by 09 pts.
Kho-Kho Girls: Akhnoor bt R S Pura by 14 pts; Bhalwal bt Satwari by 05 pts; Marh bt Khour by 03 pts.
Volleyball Girls: Dansal bt Satwari by 04 pts; Akhnoor bt R S Pura by 06 pts; Marh bt Khour block by one turn and 12 pts; Bhalwal bt Bishnah block by 10 pts.
Kabaddi Boys: Bishnah bt Dansal by 13 pts; Akhnoor bt Bhalwal by 13 pts; R S Pura bt Satwari by 19 pts.
Volleyball Boys: Akhnoor bt Bhalwal block 2-0; Bishnah bt Dansal block 2-0; Satwari bt R S Pura block 2-1.
