Awareness prog on financial inclusion with NABARD support held | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT Jammu , March 17: With an objective of providing greater financial inclusion to the rural people, J&K Grameen Bank organised a one-day awareness programme at village Panjgrain Block Dansal, Distt. Jammu with NABARD Financial assistance. The programme was inaugurated by M.K. Vij, General Manager of J&K Grameen Bank. Speaking on the occasion, he enlightened the general public about the financial inclusion programme and steps initiated by the bank for coverage of un-banked persons of the allocated villages. He apprised the gathering that such type of programmes are for the people who are un-banked and to open their account and bring them in the fold of banking. He also highlighted the various schemes of the bank and more particularly about the micro credit schemes like, KCC GCC etc. being offered by the bank. For providing social security, the bank has entered into an agreement with Bajaj Alliance for life insurance and has products which are easily affordable by the rural people. Ramesh Kumar, AGM, NABARD stressed that reaching out to the hither to un-reached segment of the population and providing basic financial services is the need of the hour. He asked the gathering to open No-Frill Accounts and avail small loans as per their skill and ability under micro-finance for taking up economic activities for their growth and development. On the occasion, H.M Panday, A.G.M Reserve Bank of India high lighted the polices and Programmes of Reserve Bank of India for facilitating financial inclusion programme. H.S Sambyal, Area Manager Jammu, Suresh Koul, Sr. Manager at' Head Office also spoke on the occasion and high lighted about the programme of financial inclusion and other scheme of the bank. The votes of thanks were presented by RP Sharma Sr. Manager Micro Finance and Financial Inclusion. |
