Interlocutors have biased policy, alleges BJP | Party to launch nationwide campaign against 'report' | | Early Times Report Jammu, Mar 17 : While inside the Legislative Assembly, opposition BJP created uproar over the report submitted by interlocutors for what they said some 'objectionable' recommendations, the party leadership outside the House alleged that the three-member team of Government appointed interlocutors have a ‘biased’ approach in presenting the true picture of Jammu and Kashmir to the Centre.
"BJP will expose the conspiracy hatched by the interlocutors' team and their biased approach towards the people of Jammu and Ladakh regions," BJP State Chief Spokesperson Jitender Singh and National Executive member told reporters at a press conference here this afternoon.
Dr Singh said, "Any proposal which is Kashmir-centric or ignores the interests of Jammu and Ladakh or which tends to weaken the state’s relationship with the country either physically or psychologically, will not be tolerated." In the wake of interlocutors submission of sixth report to the Centre, the BJP spokesperson said, "We object to the contents in the final report, ready for submission to the Union Home Ministry by Dileep Padgaonkar-led team of interlocutors." He warned that the party would launch a mass movement across the country to expose the interlocutors' 'biased' policy.
He alleged "the interlocutors had followed a biased approach right from the beginning and during each of their visits to the state they had deliberately avoided establishing contact with the BJP leadership." Dr Singh further added that the BJP during one of their ‘delayed’ meetings with the interlocutors has raised the issues of party, which included, ‘Delimitation of election constituencies’, discrimination against Jammu and Ladakh, implementation of 73rd and 74th amendments before holding Panchayat election, displaced Kashmiri community as well as PoK and West Pakistan refugees, unemployment among youth.
He said despite assurances to the BJP leadership, the interlocutors deliberately avoided any future contact with them and showed utter disregard of courtesy to the national party during their last visit to Jammu.
"BJP will launch a countrywide campaign and the entire nation will rise unitedly if on the advice of interlocutors, Government of Indiabetrays a tendency to make further concessions to appease separatists or oblige the State’s ruling coalition partners," he said.
Dr Singh said the only Kashmir roadmap proposed by BJP is "that of full and final integration of Jammu and Kashmir with the Union of India".
"On April 6, the ‘Sthapna Divas’ of BJP, a countrywide campaign will be launched against a host of issues like corruption and price rise vis-à-vis interlocutors report on Jammu and Kashmir," said the BJP Chief spokesperson.
