| NAS organizes awareness programme | | |

The deptt of Agriculture in collaboration with National Agriculture Scheme (NAS) with its headquarter in Chandigarh organized one day awareness programme regarding the launching of Agriculture crop insurance scheme for the betterment of farming community of this hilly and border district Poonch of the state.
Besides the officers of Agriculture department a large number of farmers also participated in the training programme. The aims and objective of the schemes highlighted by CAO Poonch, Iqbal Choudhary Chandigarh delivered a comprehensive lecture on the silent feature of the schemes through which the farming community can avail the reimbursement claim if their crop was subjected to any natural hazard.
During the course of deliberation the officers and farmers raised many queries regarding the modus operandi of this newly launch farmer friendly scheme.
