J&K Bank on expansion spree, opens 3 more business units

Srinagar, Mar 18: Continuing with its expansion policy, J&K Bank today opened its three Business Units; two at Assar and Prem Nagar in District Doda and third one at Lalpora, Kupwara.
District Development Commissioner (DDC) Doda Farooq Ahmed Khan inaugurated the Business Unit at Assar, and Additional Dy. Commissioner Doda, A. R. Natnoo inaugurated at Prem Nagar. Both the inaugurations witnessed a good gathering of people from all walks of life.
Meanwhile, Zonal Head (North Kashmir) Nazir Ahmad Parimoo inaugurated the Lalpora Business Unit amid a simple but impressive gathering.
Speaking on the occasion, he said that the Lalpora Business Unit has been provided with all the facilities available to the people throughout the world and made people aware of different deposit and advance schemes.
He asked people of the area to take advantage of different schemes and facilities at par with any other bank globally.
The gathering was also addressed by a prominent citizen of the area Ghulam Mohi-ud-din Shah who extended his thanks and support to the bank management and assured the bank officials that they will provide their full cooperation to make the unit a success. Mohammad Maqbool Shah, Senior Executive Manger Zonal Office, thanked the participants for sparing their precious time to grace the occasion
Meanwhile, at Assar, DDC Doda while congratulating the people for having the Business unit advised them to take full advantage of the BU. He also hoped that J&K Bank, BU Assar will play a vital role in the economic development of the area.
At Prem Nagar, Additional DC Doda addressed a public gathering and thanked bank authorities for opening of branch which shall facilitate its banking services and schemes to a largely unbanked population.
Earlier, J&K Bank Vice-President and Zonal Head, Doda, Vagish Chander accompanied by Cluster Head, welcomed the DDC, addl. Dy. Comm., senior citizens, local traders and other locals and thanked them for participating in the inaugural ceremony.
This is a step forward for bringing the people at gross root level under the ambit of banking services. With these two Business units the total number of operational units in Doda has reached to 14, he added.
A day earlier, DDC Doda also inaugurated an ATM in the Doda town. It is fifth in Teller Machine in the town.
