EARLY TIMES REPORT
KATRA, Mar 18 :- Although with the changing climatic conditions through out the world, ecology system of every nook and corner of the world has largely been affected. Following the rapid industrialization and other development activities, undoubtedly, human beings have greatly progressed in the field of technology but such progress at the cost of crushing greenery and destroying years old trees has equally and greatly disturbed the ecological balance of the environment.
Talking to the local residents of Katra, Rajan Kumar, Advocate Kuldeep Dubey, Madan Dogra, Behari Suri, Mohinder Sharma have raised their voice regarding the depleted greenery on the Trikuta hills.
Expressing that katra station is located at the foot-hills of Trikuta mountains, any loss or gain in ecology resting on the trikuta hills would severely effect the environmental conditions of katra and
surrounding areas. After constituting of the shrine board, number less development works earmarked on the hills and going on at the cost of huge loss to the forestation. Has shrine board taken up strategy for the afforestation with equal hands as with the pace concerned shrine board has occur ed massive deforestation for its developmental works? If yes, then why such a great climatic change has occurred in and around the katra base camp, if not, then board has to be made accountable for showing its non-seriousness in preserving the flora-fauna of the hills.
When talking to the Additional CEO Shrine board, katra, Dr. Mandeep bhandari, he gave a detailed account of planting several number of plants breeds on the various sites of Trikuta hills on the bhawan track, but it is of great surprise, when the safai-karamcharis working on the new bhawan track said that they were not aware of such heavy plantation atleast on this new track. Locals reveal that every time, whosoever is posted as Additional CEO, he boasts of heavy plantation on the trikuta hills, if so why the optimistic works are not showing its worth? However, localities again have urged upon the state government, shrine board to draw a blueprint for declaring Trikuta hills (valley) as Green valley, which would really give a big boost to the numbers of devotees-tourists coming in the state in general and for the darshan of Shri Mata Vaishno Devii.
