| Mauland Azad remembered on 118th birthday | | | JAMMU | NOV 13 Glowing tributes were paid to great freedom fighter and first education minister of free India, Maulana Abu-ul-Kalam Azad on his 118th birthday at Danish Kadah here today. A meeting held under the chairmanship of Anjuman president, Amin Banihali, said that late Maulana Azad through his writings has enriched the Urdu language. He informed the participants about the proceedings of all J&K urdu conference at university of Jammu recently. Banihali said, number of times Anjuman had appealed to the authorities about the urdu language which is not being given its due position as provided in the constitution of the J&K state. Anjuman on this occasion facilitated, Rabia Naseem, who has been awarded Dorctrate in urdu. The Ajumman also hailed the action of govt for appointing Shafq Sopori as Add secretary of cultural academy and Dr. T.T Bhatia, president urdu club Jalandhar Punjab statement published in newspaper about the urdu language describing it as languages of masses. Among others present in the meeting were Sajjad Poonchi, Maharak Kohen, Betab J.Puri, Khurshid Kazmi, Sham Talib, Sehr Ganderbali, Malik Abdul Latif, Ushaaq Kishtwari, Nissar Dehli, Khurshid Kazmi and Vijay Wali.
