BJP terms Omar opportunist | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, Mar 19: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) today chided remarks of Chief Minister Omar Abdullah that NDA had approached him to vote in favour of Atal Behari Vajpayee govt in 1998. This was stated by BJP State Chief Spokesperson and National Executive Member Dr Jitendra Singh. He dismissed the statement as laughable and said “BJP no longer takes seriously what Abdullah father-son duo because they are habitual of adopting opportunistic slant and always go with the party in power at the centre.” Dr Jitendra Singh asked if Omar Abdullah was so upset, why did he not resign as Minister from the BJP led government. Dr Singh said that after the fall of NDA govt, the Abdullah’s hooked themselves on to Congress for their survival and discovered a new godfather in Rahul Gandhi. Ever since then, they have been finding fault with everything that happened during the NDA regime whether it is Gujarat or Kashmir or nuclear issue. Retorting to Omar's remark describing BJP as “holier than thou”, Dr Jitendra Singh said the fact was that Omar was acting "more loyal than the king" to keep the 10 Janpath in good humour. Dr Singh further predicted that if tomorrow BJP comes back to power, the Abdullah’s will again start singing praises for it and seek ministerial berths in BJP led government.
