| Resume the duties immediately; Chib directs GMC lecturers | | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, Mar 19: A meeting of HODs of GMC, Jammu was held here today under the chairmanship of Minister for Medical Education R. S. Chib.
The meeting was among attended by Principal Secretary to Government, Health & Medical Education Department, R.K. Jerath, and Principal Government Medical College, Jammu, Dr. Rajinder Singh. Meeting discussed the unauthorized absence of the Lecturers who have not been attending the roster duties since 15th of March, 2011 as assigned to them by the respective HoDs.
While deliberating upon the issue, the Minister took a serious view of the issue which has unnecessarily been raised by the Lecturers by not attending to their duties causing great deal of inconvenience to the public at large and the patients coming from far flung and remote areas in particular. This act of the Lecturers who have chosen to remain on unauthorized absence has been viewed very seriously and action as warranted under relevant provisions of law shall be taken against them.
However, a final warning was given to the absentee lecturers to resume their duties immediately, latest by Tuesday, without any further delay, failing which it shall be presumed that they have been placed under suspension and strict action shall be initiated against the delinquent Lecturers.
Minister also took serious view of the fact that the Doctors and para medicos working in Government Medical Colleges, Jammu and Srinagar are not adhering to the dress code, even after several verbal warnings. It was also decided that strict action shall be taken against the Doctors and para medical staff who do not adhere to the prescribed dress code
