Seminar on Sustainable Tourism Development concludes | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, Mar 19: The two-day long 4th National Seminar on “An Integrated Approach to Tourism Development: Contemporary Practices and Innovations”, organized by The Business School, University of Jammu in collaboration with Tourism Department, J&K Government concluded today with the brain storming session. The main objective of the seminar was to set a synergetic platform for discussions and closer interactions among participants coming from academia, industry and government. The deliberations revolved around ‘contemporary practices in tourism, innovations in tourism industry, community participation in tourism industry, issues and challenges in sustainable tourism development and upcoming research issues in tourism. The brainstorming session was chaired by Prof Ashok Aima, Dean Management and Coordinator UGC-SAP, Prof Neelu Rohmetra, Director ,The Business School and ICCCR & HRM, University of Jammu , Prof S Inayat A Zaidi, Head Department of Tourism, Hospitality and Heritage Studies, Jamia Milia Islamia, Prof Deepak Raj Gupta, Director, School for Hospitality and Tourism Management, Dr. Depanker Sen Gupta, Professor of Economics, JU and Vijay Sehgal an expert on tourism development and management. Earlier during the two days’ seminar about fifty research proposals/ papers were presented across six technical tracks. The seminar was attended by academicians, practitioners, students and research scholars.
