Abdullahs’ are ‘opportunists’, says BJP | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT Jammu, Mar 19: Reacting sharply over the remarks of Chief Minister Omar Abdullah that NDA ‘approached’ him for trust vote during its regime, the Bhartiya Janta Party today said Abdullahs are ‘opportunists’ and switch their ‘loyalties’ off and on as they prefer to side with the party, which rules centre. “The statements issued by the father-son duo (Farooq and Omar Abdullah) have no significance and credibility…They are habitual of changing their stances and change their partners as and when there is new government at the centre,” Dr Jitendra Singh, BJP State Chief Spokesperson in a statement issued here today said. Dr Singh said, if Omar Abdullah was so upset then why he did not resign as Minister from the NDA regime,’’ “after the fall of BJP led government, the Abdullahs’ hooked themselves on to Congress for their survival and discovered a new godfather in Rahul Gandhi. He alleged that Abdullahs’ have been finding fault since then with everything that happened during the NDA regime. Retorting to Omar’s remark describing BJP as ‘holier than thou’, Dr Singh said the fact was that he (Omar) was acting ‘more loyal than the king’ to keep the 10 Janpath in good humour. ‘’We are sure that if BJP again makes a comeback to power in the Centre, the Abdullahs’ will start singing praises for it,’’ the spokesperson said.
