Movement criticizes J&K govt for not amending state act | Panchayat elections | | Early Times Report JAMMU, Mar 19: All Jammu and Kashmir Movement for Peace and Justice (AJKMPJ) has strongly criticized the state government for announcing Panchayat elections without amending the act. In a handout issued here today, AJKMPJ has accused the political forces of not wanting to de-centralize powers. While discussing role of MLCs, movement termed the situation as most unfortunate stating that these as they have badly failed to project unlimited issues of the public during the sessions. Movement leaders said that MLCs’ are either found active in promoting the ruling parties agenda or the motives of the different factions or groups. While criticizing the present regime once again, movement said that it just has badly failed to rein in the Deputy Commissioners of the state for not transferring and shifting monitoring powers of ongoing development works to the officers designated as Additional Development Commissioners since 2006. S. Deep Singh, Kuldeep Kumar Rao, Dr. GS Charak, O.P.Rao, Sheikh Tariq Hussain Pahelwan, O.P.Sharma, J.S.Salathia and Om Raj Bhall were among the prominent who attended the meeting.
