Collective efforts for providing succour to miserable class:Bhalla

JAMMU, MARCH 21-Calling upon affluent class to readily contribute forthe welfare of mentally retarded and disabled children, Minister forRevenue, Relief and Rehabilitation, Raman Bhalla has said coordinated and collective efforts are needed to provide succor to this miserable
class.
This was stated by the Minister while interacting with the representatives of Rotary Inner wheel Home for Mentally Retarded Children (RIWHMRC) at a function held at Channi Rama, here today.
Mr. Bhalla said honest and dedicated NGOs engaged in promoting social
cause will always receive encouragement from the Government. He said
two decades long turmoil has given rise to a large scale mentally
retarded and disabled people for which collective efforts of
Government, NGOs and generous donor are needed for their well being
and rehabilitation. He said generous help of the rich will go a long
way in mitigating sufferings of this distressed classes, adding that
serious efforts are need to spot talent among the disabled children
and train them accordingly for their transformation into productive
and capable human resources.
Mr. Bhalla appreciated the efforts of voluntaries for doing yeoman’s
service in providing all possible support for relief and
rehabilitation of distressed persons.
At Trikuta Nagar Sector-1 Extn., Shanker Colony and Azad Nagar in
Sunjwan, Mr. Bhalla inspected the ongoing construction works of road
widening, lanes, drains and 54 meter edge wall of link road for which
Government has earmarked Rs. 26 lakh.
The Minister asked the people to personally monitor the quality of
ongoing development works in their respective areas adding that need
for public involvement in the developmental activities and said that
without their cooperation the objective of the government of taking
state’s development tempo to new highs can not be achieved. He asked
the executing agencies any complaint on quality would receive from any
part strict action against the delinquent officers/officials will be
initiated.
