New Modern college organises Rangoli | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, Mar 21: New Modern College of Education organized an Inter College Rangoli Competition on the eve of festival of colours Holi in the college premises here today. Prof. Neeru Sharma, HOD, Deptt. of Home Science, University of Jammu was the Chief Guest on the occassion. Dr. Anil Saraf former HOD, Institute of Music & fine arts was a special invitee to adjudge the performance of the participating students of various colleges. Many students from various colleges participated in the competition. The participants were grouped in teams namely yellow, Red, Violet, Blue, Orange, Pink, Purple, Brown, and Green. The teams in groups made the design using different colours and flowers. The Principal of college Prof Siraj-ud-Din Bhat in his welcome speech outlined the objectives of conducting the competition. He emphasized the need to provide a platform to the students to express themselves in the form of structuring an idea. This is an opportunity for the students to give vent to their feelings and nurture their talent, he said. Tarun Bahl, Chairman of College highlight the importance of the festival Holi and said that Holi is associated with the mythical story of Holika and Pralahad that is why holi is celebrated all over the country with great pomp and show. Prof. Neeru Sharma expressed her happiness to be a part of such type of programmes, and appreciated the efforts of the college management and the Principal and his staff for organizing such a program.
