3/21/2011 10:09:30 PM
EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, Mar 21: In protest against the lack of essential commodities and poor development, Jammu West Assembly Movement (JWAM) today held a protest against the government.
They alleged that administration has totally neglected the people of Jammu west which holds nearly 50 per cent of the population of the city.
Speaking on the occasion, president of JWAM Sunil Dimple said demanded that constituency should be given district status so that separate funds could be earmarked for the areas falling under the constituency. He alleged that be it ration supply, power, drinking water of civil amenities, most of the localities have been neglected by the administration.
Dimple alleged that if no immediate steps are taken to develop the area, people would be forced to start agitation and administration would be responsible for the same.
“We are demanding our rights and if no immediate steps are taken to mitigate our problems, we would be forced to start agitation”, he said.
He alleged that constituency has been left far behind in the pace of the development in every field be it educational institutions, medical facilities, construction of the lanes, drains and roads, and supply of electricity.
