| Jammu Mukti Morcha reiterates demand for separate Statehood | | | JAMMU NOV-13 Alleging discrimination with Jammu region in different sectors of economy, the Jammu Mukti Morcha in its meeting held at Ustad Mohammed here today has reiterated the demand for grant of separate Statehood to Jammu. The meeting held under the chairmanship of the Morcha President Prof Virender Gupta felt that as soon as Jammu continues to remain a part of the Jammu and Kashmir, there is no possibility to get justice from the Kashmiri dominated rulers. The meeting alleged that Jammu region was not being given its due share in political, social and economic structure of the state and in this connection referred the poor representation of the Jammu region in the Civil Secretariat and other services in the state. ‘Though several steps are being taken to absorb educated youth of the Valley, much little is being done in respect of the educated youth of Jammu region adding that 70 per cent of unemployed youth of the State are from Jammu province, the meeting felt. Addressing the meeting Prof Gupta has asked the Morcha activists to create awareness among the people about the discriminatory attitude of the State Government and prepare themselves for a struggle in near future for separate Jammu state, a hand out of the Morcha said. .
