| JK Women Welfare Society organize seminar on ‘Teachings of Gandhi Ji’ | | | JAMMU NOV-13 Jay Kay Women Welfare Society organized a seminar on ‘Teachings of Gandhi Ji’ as Government Higher Secondary School Lambari in Dandani of Rajouri district. The seminar sponsored by Khadi and Village Industries Commission was attended by a number of school children, which actively took part in the seminar as also in the debating competition. The general public particularly of the rural areas were apprised about the importance of Khadi and its products and guided to raise their own small units for which loans from the financial institutions are readily available. Chief Horticulture Officer Rajouri N L Sharma, who was the chief guest, distributed prizes among the participants in the debate. Interacting with the gathering present on the occasion, Sharma underscored the need for adopting Gandhian principals and impressed upon the farming community to take maximum benefits from the schemes launched by the Government for promotion of horticulture sector in the State. He said trades like fruit canning and fruit processing have a great scope to flourish as such the people should take up these ventures for which necessary training would be imparted to the deserving unemployed youth by the department. Among others present included Development Officer KVIC A K Koul, Abdul Hamid Mir of KVIC, Madan Lal Sharma, Sarpanch and Inspector Ramji Dass. Manoj Sharma Project Officer Jay Kay Women Welfare Society presented vote of thanks.
