| World Arbour Day celebrated | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, Mar 21:
Manorrnjan Kala Kendra and Department of Social Forestry celebrated the world Arbour Day here today at SOS Hermann Gmeiner School, Gole Gujral. The programme started with an introductory speech by TS Premi Secretary Manorranjan Kala Kendra who also welcomed the audience.
Sangeeta Dhar teacher of the school gave a detailed description on Global Warming and emphasized for planting more and more trees.
Pritam singh DFO Social Forestry spoke on the importance of the day. The Principal SOS HGS Ramesh Kumar Dhar welcomed the NGO and Department of Social Forestry for choosing the school on this day.
Dr. Rajinder Thapa Department of Pathgology, M L Shastri President Kala Kendra , SS Chib Range officer Social forestry Jammu and Sardar Jaswant singh Range officer also attended the function. The Chief Guest Ashwani Guipta Regional Director Social forestry laid stress on plantation to improve the environment and also informed the gathering that Social Forestry Department provides plants free of cost to the institutions for planting on waste land. Later on plantation drive was launched and about 100 plants were planted and distributed on this day.
The Function was organized in co-operation with All India Society of Human Resources Enhancement Delhi (J&K Branch).
