SPEC organises Inter-Faith conference

JAMMU, Mar 21:
SPEC-The Society for Peace and Environmental Cancers, Jammu organized an Inter-Faith conference on "Religion-A unifying force" the other day at Information Centre, Forest Department Bikram Chowk, Jammu.
MLA, Kathua Charanjeet Singh was the Chief Guest on the occasion. While speaking on the occasion, the Chief Guest said that there might be differences between people in religion, culture and traditions but it is incumbent upon everyone to accord equal respect to others, as all men and women are creatures of one and the same God.
Earlier while giving his introductory lecture in the conference, Shanas, Founder Patron of SPEC explained in detail that SPEC has been holding such conferences with an objective to develop better understanding of religion for better human relation. Suresh Sharma, IAS who attended the conference as Special Invitee said that SPEC is doing a noble job by providing an opportunity to the people of different ideological background to gather on one platform so that they could develop better understanding for each other.
In his presidential address I.D Soni said that religion stands for mutual respect and love for humanity. Those who have true understanding of religion use religion as a tool to unite people and not to divide them. He said that SPEC is doing a stupendous job to bring peace and harmony in the society.
Religious scholars namely Ab. Qyum Nadwi, Harjinder Singh, B L Dubey Shastri, Vickey, Sunny also presented their papers in the conference signifying the role of religion in unifying the people.
