| NC Block Samba Committee hold meeting | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, Mar 21:
A meeting of the members of National Conference Block Committee Samba was held under the Chairmanship of Kartar Singh, Senior Vice President Block Samba and presided over by Mohinder Singh, Senior Leader National Conference at Samba. Mohinder Singh.
While speaking on the occasion, Mohinder Singh lauded the role of the present dispensation for announcing the decision of holding the elections of the Panchayats so as to strengthen the democratic institutions at the gross root level. He impressed upon the participants to elect honest and dedicated persons in the coming Panchayat Elections so as to generate developmental activities in the areas in a big way and the rural masses are benefited at their door steps. He said that since the government is paying special heed towards developmental activities in the rural areas, therefore, the role of the Panchayats has become very important at this juncture and it would be possible only when the elected representatives are honest and dedicated one. He emphasized that these elections should be held in a free and fair manner and should not be based on party lines as is the intentions of the government shown while announcing such elections. Kartar Singh, Sr. Vice President, Sat Pal Padha, Secretary and Dhrub Singh, Joint Secretary Block Committee Samba also spoke on the occasion.
