| FONL welcomed announcement of Revenue Minister | | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, March 21: Forum of Lease Holders and Occupants of Nazool/Government Lands thanked the ruling parties and opposition members of State Legislative Council for supporting their case in the Council on March 18.
The forum has expressed gratitude to Khalid Najib Suharawardy and Javaid Ahmed Rana of the NC, Subash Chander Gupta of Congress and Nizam-ud-Din Khatana of PDP for pleading with the Revenue Minister, in the upper house that the cases pending under the Roshini Act should be resolved taking the same amount that was taken from the people living in 13 colonies that were regularized by the JDA in the recent past.
A meeting of the forum was held under the chairmanship of its Chairman Inderjeet Khajuria.
Khajuria stated that the forum had welcomed the announcement by the Revenue Minister Raman Bhalla recently, about the Government decision to appoint a fresh price Evaluation Committee. But so far nothing has practically come out about the appointment of the committee. He demanded that besides the officials the representatives the people and particularly the parties concerned viz the lease holders of lands should also be included in the rates fixation committee, announced to be appointed for the purpose.
The others who attended the meeting included S.S.Pathania President, S. Gajan Singh Gen. Secy. Iqbal Khullar, Som Nath Sharma and Sunil Dutta.
