Chicago University students call on ACRM president | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, Mar 21: A delegation of students from Chicago University who are studying the problems being faced by Kashmiri migrants from Kashmir Valley called on the members of the Action Committee for Return of Migrants (ACRM). They were given a brief by Jatinder Bakshi, president of the Committee and Vinay Thusoo, Chief Coordinator, of the committee. They were told Kashmiri Pandits were forced to leave by gun wielding militants who were sent across the LOC to disturb peace and secular ethos of the valley. Kashmir is known down the ages for secular ethos which was temporarily disturbed by the militants sent from across the valley. They were told that all the separatists’ leaders of the valley who are being blamed for disturbing secular ethos of the valley had been openly advocating on our platform that Kashmiri Pandits are a part and parcel of the culture and the absence of Kashmiri Pandits has left deep void which can only be filled with by their return. The leaders who have been advocating on our platform include Mirwaiz Umer Farooq, Syed Ali Shah Geelani, Shabir Shah, Yasin Malik, Maulvi Abbas Ansari,Prof Abdul Gani Bhat and most of the intellectuals and opinion makers of the Valley. The delegation comprised of Megan Mcdermott, Angus Fei Ni, Kelly Albinak, Deanna Lesht, Laura Jean Eichten, Maya Ibars, Subha Chauhan, Audrey Gillian.
