Minor quake hits J&K, tremors felt in Delhi too | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, Mar 21: Panic gripped Kashmir after a moderate earthquake measuring 5.8 on the Richter scale hit the state Monday.The epicenter of the quake was in the Hindukush mountain range in Afghanistan, according to official sources. It occured at about 3.20 pm and lasted three seconds. Its tremors were also felt in Delhi, parts of Himachal Pradesh, Gurgaon, Chandigarh and Jaipur, the sources added. Panic, however, gripped the valley soon after the tremors were felt. Many people rushed out of their houses, fearing the repeat of the 2005 tremor that had brought havoc in the border area of Kashmir and Poonch district of Jammu region.No damage to life, or property of the people was, however, reported from anywhere due to the quake.
