EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, Mar 21: Panic gripped Kashmir after a moderate earthquake measuring 5.8 on the Richter scale hit the state Monday. The epicenter of the quake was in the Hindukush mountain range in Afghanistan, according to official sources.
It occured at about 3.20 pm and lasted three seconds. Its tremors were also felt in Delhi, parts of Himachal Pradesh, Gurgaon, Chandigarh and Jaipur, the sources added.
Panic, however, gripped the valley soon after the tremors were felt.
